Our Story
Our journey into the adventures of homesteading and small scale farming began back in 2015 when myself and my husband Jason, bought this pristine and beautiful 9.8 acres of land, at the foot of the mighty Mount H’Kusam, in the Sayward Valley. What drew us to this acreage was, Southern exposure, the promise of warm, fertile soil and an abundance of crystal-clear pure water from the lovely mountain fed, Stowe Creek, that flows through the property. A small rustic cottage and a workshop, built by the very first and former owner, provided us with the basics to manifest and create our organic practise market gardens, ethical farming, minimal environmental footprint, and homesteading dream!
Our Heritage Turkey meat is rich and satisfying without gamey notes, is fall apart tender, with an equal ratio of light to dark meat. The delicious rich Heritage turkey flavour and texture, creates a unique and flavourful dining experience.
At Winter Wren Farm, our Heritage Turkeys are raised naturally on our woodland pastures, their diet supplemented with non-GMO and organic grains, as well as fruits and vegetables from our organic practise gardens.
